Mr. Bebel previously served as an attorney for the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission (Division of Enforcement) and the NASD (n/k/a FINRA) (Division of Enforcement), where he was on the subcommittee that prepared the Sanction Guidelines. For approximately seven years, Mr. Bebel prosecuted securities law offenses and other white collar crimes while working as an Assistant United States Attorney. After leaving the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Minnesota, Mr. Bebel continued to work on securities fraud cases after being asked to serve as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney. The U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Minnesota, thereafter retained him as a consulting expert on securities matters. Mr. Bebel has lectured on securities law to students at approximately one-half dozen law schools and graduate degree programs, including Baylor University School of Law; Texas Tech University School of Law; Mitchell Hamline School of Law; University of Houston School of Law; and the University of Dallas.
